We are conducting an evaluation for the ISL Social Inclusion Voucher Scheme 2023-2026. Method Consultants are carrying out the evaluation, and the lead researcher is Paul Ginnell.
Why we want Paul to evaluate the Voucher Scheme
The aim is to collect and assess the scheme’s value in the Deaf community and to identify any changes needed to improve the scheme going forward.
In order to improve the scheme, we here at SLIS ask you to submit your views of the scheme from 2023-2026. You can do this by taking part in the evaluation survey.
We welcome you to take part in the survey in either of the following ways:
- Complete the online survey here. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes.
- If you wish to send your response to the survey by ISL video please see the section below on how to reply to the survey by ISL Video.
If you wish to get support to complete the survey over zoom using ISL please email Paul. His contact details are: paulginnell@gmail.com
Your views and opinions are important – it doesn’t matter if you have used the voucher scheme or not, we still want you to submit to our survey.
All submitted information is treated in full confidentiality.

A. Which County you live in and your age.
B. If you did not apply for the Voucher Scheme, why not. Do you have any suggestions for how it could be better promoted or for making it better?
C. If you did apply for the Voucher Scheme:
- How did you find out about the scheme ? How well do you think it is promoted among Deaf ISL users?
- Roughly, how often have you applied for it and how did you find the booking process for interpreters?
- What was your experience with SLIS and the ISL interpreter?
How satisfied were you with using the scheme ? - What are the positive things and
What are the challenges in using the scheme? - Do you have any suggestions for making the scheme better?
- Describe the impact the Voucher Scheme has had on your life?
- If your application was rejected, could you tell us what happened?
