ABOUT SLIS
Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) is the national Sign Language Interpreting Service for Ireland. Established in 2007, SLIS is supported and funded through the Citizens Information Board.
SLIS is a not for profit organisation and a registered charity (Charity No: CHY 17461)
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of SLIS is to ensure Deaf people can live as full and equal citizens. We achieve this by developing, and advocating for, the availability of quality interpretation services to Deaf people and service providers in Ireland.
We work to ensure that Deaf people have easy access to public and social services and can exercise their rights and entitlements under the Equal Status & Disability Acts.

To find an experienced registered interpreter for your needs.
HSE SLIS GP & Primary Care Appointments
SLIS arranges interpreters for GP appointments for Deaf people with medical cards or GP visit cards, on behalf of the HSE.
IRIS – the Irish Remote Interpreting Service
Provides instant online video link access to a sign language interpreter. Advance booking advised.
The Register of Irish Sign Language Interpreters
A quality assurance and registration scheme for sign language interpreters.
