SLIS Request For Tenders

Development of a Strategic Plan 2020-2022 for Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS)

Request for Tenders

Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) is the national Sign Language Interpreting Service for Ireland.  Established in 2007, through the Citizens Information Board (SLIS), our mission is to promote, advocate and ensure the availability of quality sign language interpretation services.

The goal of SLIS is to ensure that Deaf people can live as full and equal citizens.  To this end, SLIS has a range of services to facilitate easy access through sign language interpreting to relevant public, educational and social services, and allow Deaf ISL users to exercise their rights and entitlements, including under the Equal Status and Disability Acts.

The board of SLIS require a new strategic plan to meet the challenges arising from significant developments in terms of legislation (Irish Sign Language (ISL) Act 2017), national policy (The National Disability Inclusion Strategy (NDIS) 2017-2021), and the environment in which it operates.

SLIS is now seeking tenders from management professionals or organisational development specialists to assist the SLIS board in the development of a strategic development plan from 2020 to 2022 inclusive.

We expect the contract to commence in July 2019 and a final strategic plan to be adopted at the SLIS board meeting of December 4th, 2019.
