Quality Development Officer  

(Full-time, fixed-term contract, 12 months with potential to extend for up to 12 further months) 

The Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) is seeking to recruit a Quality Development Officer on a fulltime, fixedterm contract for 12 months to develop systems to improve the quality and availability of sign language interpreting. 

The Quality Development Officer will plan and develop a quality assurance and registration scheme for Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreters in Ireland.  Working with key stakeholders, the successful candidate will undertake research and will advise on/assist with the development and delivery of a national registration scheme, and associated quality measures, including continuous professional development and training for sign language interpreters. 

Salary 

The salary scale for this role is €41,621 – €49,991. It is anticipated that new entrants to SLIS will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale. Incremental credit, should it be awarded, will be based on previous relevant experience as set out on the application form and covering letter.
